Ministry of Industry and Trade

The competition proposal for the reconstruction of the entrance vestibule of the Ministry of Industry and Trade represents work with a conceptual solution of a historic building by architect Josef Fanta. The main idea was to respect the gem and bring a fresh and timeless solution. We were inspired by the very essence of industry and trade, as a process of constant communication, negotiation, establishment of cooperation, etc. The space of the Ministry's vestibule is a place where all of this begins and ends at the right time. The uncontrolled intersection of routes and the constant energy flow of building users streamline the newly embedded masses of each function. Newly placed furniture is conceived as minimalist and clean in shape, but at the same time it is supplemented with original details and underlined by quality materials. The composition is not supposed to beat the current beauty of entry, but to complement it with the benefits of a modern vision that is elevated to an otherwise perceived work of art. The building program included a new location of the mailroom and reclamation of public space in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the building.
