Homestead Zdiby

We proposed the reconstruction of a village homestead in Zdiby, just outside Prague, for a young couple who decided to turn their farm into a place to live. We worked with respect for the local characteristic buildings and the historical craft, which blends across all buildings. Not only did we sensitively and at the same time take the original elements into account, but we also incorporated a "new" architecture into the project. It appears in the form of minimalist and lightweight modules several times and complements the individual buildings of the family house, former barns, granary and smithy. It opens unusual possibilities within the use of the building, visual perception or replaces the non-renewable ones. The result is a combination of personal and unusual approach with the original architecture.
